Our denomination is The United Church of Christ. It is important to note upfront that “The United Church of Christ” is a distinctly different denomination from “The Church of Christ”. The United Church of Christ does not require adherence to a specific set of beliefs. Each person is encouraged to develop his or her own expression of his or her faith through study and reflection.
Mission Statement. The United Church of Huntsville is inclusive to all. We strive to humbly walk the path of Jesus and to show love and justice in our church and in the world around us.
Open and Affirming. Christ Jesus has called us to be a community of faith, loving one another as God loves us, freely and without reservation. As such, our church's tradition of justice and equality has again compelled us to affirm the dignity and worth of each person, rejecting any form of discrimination. The United Church of Huntsville (U.C.C.) is an OPEN AND AFFIRMING Congregation, celebrating human relationships that are based on love, responsibility, mutual respect, trust, and fidelity. We joyfully embrace diversity of age, ethnicity, family structure, gender identity and expression, mental and physical ability, nationality, political ideology, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and spiritual belief.
