Alan Ballentine, Associate
Pastor for Adult Formation
Alan is a native of north Alabama, having been born in Anniston, and raised in Huntsville and Birmingham. He attended Samford University in Birmingham and graduated with honors in 1984. After service in the U.S. Army Alan attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, graduating in 1990. He was ordained in the United Church of Christ, Indiana-Kentucky Conference in 1991.
After seminary and ordination, he served as pastor of United Church of Christ congregations in Boonville, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois. In addition to his pastoral ministry, Alan was involved in numerous efforts during this time, including mental health advocacy, congregation-based community organizing, advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and privileges, outdoor ministry, and conference committee work.
In the late 1990s, Alan made a career transition, shifting away from full-time pastoral ministry to a business career in technology. He has worked for multiple professional service providers and has participated in and led projects at a wide variety of customers including Kemper Insurance, CNA, Ameritech, Bell South, the Department of Defense, and NASA.
While working full-time in business, Alan has continued to serve in ministry part-time, including pulpit supply, teaching/facilitating adult religious education groups, and mentoring in the Episcopal Church's Education for Ministry program. He is married to Susan, and has three grown sons, Christ, Wes, and Gabe

Sarah Coleman-Gonzalez, Music Director
Sarah Coleman-Gonzales has been the music director at UCH since August 2020 after starting as a musician for the virtual services at the very start of the pandemic. She is also the choral director at Huntsville High School as well as the music director for HHS Theatre. She is a founding member and board member for the premier statewide choir Alabama Voices.
Tatsiana Fedoseyev, Organist
Mrs. Tatsiana Fedoseyev began serving as our church's organist in 2005.
Tatsiana is a native of Belarus, and the congregation considers itself fortunate that her life's journey led her to Huntsville, where her impressive skills at the organ and piano enrich our services. Many of us try to get to the sanctuary a few minutes before the eleven o'clock traditional services begin just to enjoy listening to her musical preludes.
Tatsiana and her husband Eugene are the proud parents of two children.
